ETH works its productive chain in an integrated fashion - cultivating sugar cane, production, sales and logistics of its products. The business model, based on concetrated nucleuses (poles), was chosen due to the synergy amongst the units, the increase in the production scale and greater competitiveness.
ETH invests in technological innovation, research and the implementation of best sustainable practices, from mechanized sugar cane sowing to harvest, ethanol production and the co-generation of energy.
ETH is a partner to local and international biotechnology companies that develop studies for the production of ethanol made from the fermentation of sugar cane bagasse (cellulose), known as second generation ethanol; as well as its gasification process, the third generation.
ETH also participates in the development of research for the genetic improvement of sugar cane, seeking species better adapted to the most varied types of climate and soil.
