Brenco is implementing a "greenfield" strategy, meaning building, rather than acquiring operations. The company's industrial mills will be brand new, built using the best and cleanest technologies available and maintaing best industry practice production efficiencies and decreased atmosphere emissions and water usage.
Ethanol has several distinct advantages over alternative transportation fuels:
- Does not require significant changes to established distribution and utilization infrastructure;
- Is a clean source of energy - made from renewab le raw material sources such as sugarcane, ethanol and other commodity products;
- Increase octane and reduces polluting CO2 emissions;
- Is a proven and growing complement to (E2-10% blends) and substitute of (E85 blend) petroleum fuels - in a number of countries, including Brazil and the United States.

Brenco's harvest operations will be 100% mechanized and will not include the burning of sugarcane straw. In addition, Brenco is developing social and environmental projects which will take into consideration public policies and requirements related to special environmental protected areas, refered to in Brazilian legislation as "Áreas de Preservação Permanente" e "Reserva Legal".
Over time, Brenco's agricultural and industrial operations will employ over 15,000 people in order to produce and maintain full-capacity production of 1 billion gallons of ethanol per year.
